Julianne Hough has an amazing dancer’s body and she loves Country Music so that makes us even more of a fan! Julianne has performed at the Grand Ole Opry too. In 2007, Julianne recorded her first single “Will You Dance With Me” to raise money for the American Red Cross. Julianne then went on to sign with Universal Music Group Nashville’s Mercury Nashville division. Her single peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. In 2008, Julianne joined Brad Paisley’s tour and in 2009 she opened for two shows on Toby Keith’s tour and was the opening act for George Strait’s Summer 2009 Tour. At the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards she grabbed the trophy for Top New Female Vocalist. Julianne also had a role in Footloose the movie in 2011.

Alan Jackson leaves Australia
Well, Mr. Alan Jackson wrapped up his first Australian tour in Brisbane and observed a few things about Australia that reminded him of home. Alan has been quoted as saying “I’ve flown over parts of the country that looked like Texas and looked like Tennessee and the Northwest. Melbourne – that looked like some of Texas that I’ve been to; outside of Sydney, up in the wine country in Hunter Valley that was just gorgeous. That looked like outside of San Francisco! Some of these places I’ve played, like Brisbane, that’s a more rural kind of working area…a lot of people coming in from other areas to come in and see me. It’s pretty cool down here! I’ve always heard great things about it, and everybody was right – it’s a beautiful country and the people are really nice. The fans really love the kind of music I make, and I’m lucky down here to end the summer.” Jackson did get surprised by one thing he found in Sydney, noting, “I’ve seen programs on it, pictures of the country, but the thing that surprised me was sitting out here on this balcony at this hotel, and these parrots and white cockatoos that you’d buy at a store just fly around down here like crows! They’re everywhere!”
Billy Currington to Tour with Kenny Chesney
It’s finally his turn to tour with Kenny Chesney, and Billy Currington couldn’t be more excited.
“Every time I hear that, I think, ‘Man, he picked me,’” Currington says before a tour rehearsal in Nashville.
“All these years, all my buddies, Luke Bryan and this guy and that guy (got to tour with Chesney), I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I started first.’ I’m in awe of where (Chesney) has taken his organization and success, and I just want to be a part of it.”
Currington will play 50 minutes in his opening slot on Chesney’s Goin’ Coastal tour, which also includes Uncle Kracker and Zac Brown Band. The tour kicks off March 17 in West Palm Beach, Fla. and includes more than 50 dates in amphitheaters, arenas and stadiums across the country. Currently, there isn’t a stop in Nashville, but Chesney does plan to visit Atlanta, Ga., Lexington, Kent., and Cincinnati, Ohio – all towns within a comfortable driving distance.
“We’re used to playing in front of 6,000 and 7,000, which is a lot for us now,” Currington says. “We’ve definitely grown and came up to a number, but still when you hear 60,000 that he brings to the shows, it reminds you that you have a lot of work to do. And all those people are country music fans … and I get a chance to gain those same fans. It’s all set up to be really good.”

Gibson Guitar Nashville raided
NASHVILLE, Nov. 18, 2009 – Agents armed with warrants searched the Nashville factory of Gibson Guitars as part of a crackdown on the illegal use of endangered woods, authorities said.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service agents served the warrants on the company Tuesday at its manufacturing plant for electric and acoustic guitars, The Tennessean reported.
Exotic woods used in high-end guitars, such as Brazilian rosewood, have become a focus of strict controls because of rainforest depletion. Trading in such woods is a federal offense, the paper said.
The company said in a statement it has done nothing wrong and is “fully cooperating with agents … as it pertains to an issue with harvested wood.”
Environmentalists were surprised by the search, saying Gibson is an industry leader in using only sustainable woods.
“Historically, Gibson has shown an awful lot of leadership; they are really one of the manufacturers far ahead of the field,” Scott Paul, of Greenpeace, said.
Mincemeat Baked Apples
Try this delicious twist on baked apples,
take your favourite apple and core it
place it in a baking dish after you put a thin coat of butter on the bottom of the dish.
stuff each apple with mincemeat, 1/2 tsp of butter and 1 tsp of brown sugar
bake at 350 degrees for approx. 45 mins or until tender but firm.
Time varies depending on the type of apples you choose. We prefer macintosh or fuji apples.
remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream

Beautiful Franklin, TN
If you are visiting Nashville, make sure you take a trip south into Williamson County and check out the beautiful historic town of Franklin. It’s one of the oldest towns in America and it’s about a 20-30 minute drive south of Nashville. On your way back into Nashville, be sure to check out the Bluebird Cafe which features the very best up and coming talent. Keith Urban loves the Bluebird!
Pizza on the BBQ
You gotta try this folks;
- Heat up your BBQ and lightly oil the grill (not too much or you will have big flames)
- gently toss your rolled out pizza dough onto the grill
- spread your favorite sauce
- add your toppings
- close the lid and check on it after about 5 minutes.
- make sure the grill isn’t too hot so you don’t burn the crust.
- you should see some nice grill marks on the bottom of the crust if you lift up a corner to check
- should be done in around 10-15 minutes when you see the cheese nicely melted and golden and the toppings cooked.
- slide the pizza off the grill onto a large pizza pan, cutting board or whatever is clean and handy.
- slice it up and serve.
It’s a delicious and fun thing to do for the family or if you are having friends over.
